F3mhack - Hacktona Feminista, Sao Paulo, Brasil +	It was an intensive work to prepare, organize, mobilize and create content for the event, but certainly very rewarding a full on day, with all women interested in the subject until the end of the journey. We had organize simultaneously workshops about learning encrypted chat and email, mobile security and secure browsing, and we expected that people would choose encryption tools, but instead the fullest room was secure browsing. We realize that the “encryption” word can scare some women, even if they feel safe about asking, they prefer study basic things. The final discussion about how they felt online harassment and digital security was a bit difficult to start, because people were tired. The intention was to create a communication that could related things that we had introduced along the day with a feminist view. To relax we started to tell some personal histories around the issue, and the conversation got on fire. In the end happened an interesting conversation and we got some interesting communication lines: - My bits, my rules - Let's ovulate security Furthermore we want to create an emergency group to help feminists that are being harassed and more Femhacks events.  +

Shared spaces create a meeting of minds, differing opinions about political meaning of technology. Conflicted feelings around inclusiveness of cis men in feminist spaces / non-inclusiveness of cis-men's opinions and voices.  +
FemH3ck - Basic privacy and digital security for feminist & LGTBQIA, Indonesia +	The event went very well. As the organizer, I felt a great satisfaction to be able to conduct the training and share what I have learned in the past year. This small achievement serves as a seed of work to show and convince activists about the importance of the issues and it also serves very valuable ground work for me on the issues to build the gender and tech movement in Indonesia. As for participants, they showed big interest and enthusiasm to start taking up the issues within their organization and movement.  +

Las mismas cifras se mantuvieron para quienes consideraron que las herramientas proporcionadas cubrían sus necesidades actuales.  +

FemH3ck – Digital Security and Privacy Advocacy Flash training at the ihub Space, Nairobi, Kenya +	Loved sharing my knowledge on digital security but above all, loved the attendees enthusiasm on the subject matter.All the invited guests showed up even the ihub space manager created time to be involved and participate in the training.-Yvonne “When the training came to an end, the participants were not willing to leave the training session. Their silence was pregnant with the desire to learn more. This filled me with lots of joy to know that we had been tackling a topic that people are hungry for information. FemH3ck – Talking Digital Saving Lives at Egerton University, Njoro, Kenya +	Loved facilitating at the University and the students together with the lecturers were very vibrant to learn about digital security and how gender based violence easily becomes tech based violence with advancement of technology-Yvonne “Open sharing of the student and lecturer participants on tech related violence they had experienced at the university made me sad to realize how widespread tech related violence is in our country, however, I was encouraged and energized by their eagerness to learn how to further enhance their security online.” Mary Kiio  +
Formacion Ciberactivismo, Cuenca, Ecuador +	Hubo una clara diferencia en el grupo entre las personas trans, mujeres jóvenes y hombres homosexuales en la familiaridad con la tecnología, por lo que la facilitación del grupo demando explicaciones personalizadas, y que los grupos sean diversos para que se compartan conocimientos entre los, las, les participantes. Es necesario trabajar más con los grupos de mujeres trans, dado que es un grupo discriminado de la educación formal, sin acceso a internet pero con gran demanda de conocimientos.  +
Formacion Ciberactivismo, Santa Elena, Ecuador +	Fue un grupo bastante empoderado de los temas de derechos sexuales y reproductivos, y derechos GLBTI, de manera que se trabajo mucho más en las herramientas y los contenidos planeados, lo cual permitio que avancemos mucho más en los temas de seguridad digital y ciberactivismo. Fue una experiencia muy reveladora del uso de la tecnologia fuera de la capital, Quito, y de como estan las organizaciones juntandose y aprendiendo por lo que pude tener una clara relación con grupos jóvenes de feministas, activistas glbto y activistas trans en específico que permiten alianzas para más adelante poder hacer incidencia y más capacitaciones. Tenemos un grupo de telegram con este grupo donde constantemente se hacen preguntas, y se comparte información, es decir se logro tejer una red clara de ciberactivistas.  +
Formacion Seguridad Digital, El Salvador +	Nuestra organización se ha sentido muy bien y satisfechas con la oportunidad que hemos tenido de replicar información valiosa para nuestro grupo y las participantes. El poder impartir información que ayude a documentar situaciones de violencia y nuestro trabajo de manera más segura nos crea mucha expectativa de cómo manejar mejor la información de nuestras compañeras y así mismo enseñar a nuestras compañeras como usar mejor nuestros móviles para el acceso a redes sociales.  +

Gender and Technology Institute, Panama +	An important element of the success of this event lied in the fact that the curricula and the facilitation methodologies was informed by an in-depth research that collected 55 testimonies among activists located in 14 LAC countries regarding their uses and practices with ICT and the risks and attacks they were facing. This research was complemented with a preparatory meeting of five days that gathered our partner Women Help Women and nine of the facilitators that would be present at the GTI. As the meeting took place in March 2017, facilitators had over 5 months to discuss and prepare their sessions. This time span enabled them to investigate and adapt their examples and cases studies to the diversity of contexts experienced by the participants.  +

Hackerspace Feminista. Quito, Ecuador +	Para que el hackerspace sea real nos debemos encontrar, para que se mantenga vivo debemos planificar mejor cada encuentro. Necesitamos reunirnos para resolver entre todas necesidades de nuestras organizaciones. Planificar un cronograma y actividades, puede animar a mantenernos en contacto. Es fundamental tener un espacio de encuentro acogedor, con flexibilidad de horario, seguridad, intimidad y conectividad. Todas estamos muy ocupadas, tenemos grandes responsabilidades en nuestras organizaciones, el gran reto es tener una plan que nos permita hacer real el hackerspace.  +
Herramientas comunicacionales para la protección del territorio y naturaleza, Ecuador +	Pati: Es fabuloso saber que la información que les proporcionamos sirve a las defensoras para desarrollar sus labores de defensa del territorio y resistencia pacífica frente actividades extractivas. Me sentí muy agradecida y contenta con la posibilidad de haber logrado que a través de Maka y Jorge las defensoras de Ecuador pudieron conocer herramientas comunicacionales para incorporar en sus procesos. Me quedo con algunas inquietudes sobre temas que debemos profundizar como el autocuidado. Es agotador por su puesto la organización de todo taller pero la recompensa de saber que estamos aportando es lo valioso y reconfortante en este proceso de formación. Maka: para mi fue muy interesante abordar el tema del impacto de la defensora en los cuerpos y nuestras relaciones. Todas las defensoras y defensores se sintieron aludidos e interesados por hablar de estos temas que parecen tabús dentro de las organizaciones sociales y que son claves para comprender las estrategias de sostenibilidad del movimiento social. Se interesaron mucho por herramientas como el uso de aceites esenciales para el control de emociones y sentimientos, técnicas como el abrazo de los dedos y el simple hecho de hablar de cómo se siente cada persona en su labor de defensora. También me gustó mucho la reacción y el interés que tuvieron las mujeres de Intag por el proyecto de telefonía celular autónoma de los pueblos originarios de Oaxaca porque ellas consideran que tienen condiciones para levantar proyectos de este tipo en su región. Mostraron mucho interés por entender las infraestruturas autónomas como una forma de enfrentar la vigilancia y el control que se ejerce a través de las tecnologías de comunicación.  +
